Linkages between Blanc Sablon and Old Ferrole Not only were there important linkages between East St. Modeste and Old Ferrole, but those between Blanc Sablon and Ferrole were also vital. After 1717, when Berhouague became the governor of Blanc Sablon, he sent warnings down to the fishermen at Ferrole so as to prepare them for attacks by large numbers of "Eskimaos".
